Dearest Little Alice,

Just a few lines to you dear little girl.  I am a little lonesome tonight and am recalling the wonderful hours I spent with you, my best and most faithful friend.  I am sorry I did not have a chance to say good-by to you before I left, you see I worked till Saturday night, Jan. 11 and left S.L. the next morning.  After 46 hours tough driving day and night, I landed here and had to go to work right away, in charge of the domestic-dept. The latter was not in best of condition and I have been going at top speed ever since.

This is a nice little place, finest spring-weather everyday, sometimes a little foggy.  Only there are not many people living here outside students, so business is not at all what it was at K.O.B.S.  But I guess it will get better in time.  I had to promise Mr. Wright to stay here till I will be transferred to another store, either Ogden or Colorado, he said.

Well I wished you could be roaming around with me it’s not so good to be alone all the while.  I hope you will take time to drop me a few lines and I am always your friend,

George
