Hello Baby,
Just what are you doing tonight?  I am alone, that is with my boys, but o how I long for my little girl, there is nothing that will ever take your place.  Time passes so swiftly, mor than five months allready since I came here, spring is over and a loveless sommer to come, one gets to be just like a machine, work, eat and sleep, thats all. Get more business, thats all I hear, and so the figures jump around in my head.

If I only could meet your suggestion of coming to S.L. on my vacation, but it doesnt look like there will be one, you see most of the employies havent been here one year yet, and if they gave us Salt Lakers a vacation, there would be trouble, and furthermore there is nobody to take my place if I should go, I just got a new lady to work with last week, it take some time to break somebody in in my department.  Thats what I get for coming down here. Three girls have gone back to Salt Lake so far, they couldnt stand this place, but there is no chance for me and besides I am no quitter. They placed their confidence in me and so I will have to stick it out. It will be all the sweeter when we meet again. I have found a friend here that would get me a job on a ship, if I wanted to work my way to Germany, may be I will take advantage of that later.

There is nothing new to report, hoping that you are all well, I remain as ever your best friend George
